Mekong at Marigold Hotel, Hyderabad will always feature in every discerning Pan-Asian cuisine lover’s ‘Top 5 Favourites’ list in the city. This classy restaurant with an undulated ceiling and hanging, wooden birds perched above tables, has consistently been serving delicious dishes for years.

If sushi is your thing, the range here will definitely not disappoint you. Our picks would be the Crab Avocado Uramaki, Nigiri tuna, the ultra-fresh Salmon sashimi and Oshinko maki. An Asian meal is incomplete without steaming hot Dim sums! Imagine tasty Jiaozi (Tibetan Chicken Momos), Fish Sui Mai, Sweet Pea Dim Sum and Steamed buns stuffed with pork, chicken and shiitake mushrooms, to name just a few.

The appetiser section of the menu is vast but we’d recommend the mouthwatering, Peking Duck served with scallions, cucumber, hoisin plum sauce and Chinese pancakes. If you still have space for mains, try the Great Wall tiger prawns cooked in the chef’s special chilli oyster sauce, Singaporean Chilli crab which is a signature dish and Tofu delight which is served with lemon jaggery sauce. Although Thai Green Curry is a common dish in Pan-Asian eateries, somehow the Mekong chefs take it up a notch with a perfect balance of spice and fresh ingredients, which will lure you to dive in and devour it! Selecting a noodle dish is a tough task with Udon, Pad Thai, Wheat, Steamed rice noodles and more to choose from. If rice is your preference, go for the Vietnamese style rice bowl, the classic Nasi Goreng, the spicy Malay Sambal Fried Rice and Laos rice bowl. 

Those in the know, will always order the legendary Coconut Jaggery Ice Cream as a sweet finale to a fabulous meal at Mekong!
