Hailing from a commerce background, Rubeena Khan found her calling in marketing and communication three years ago. She got her first experience in the hospitality industry with Dubai Marine Beach Resort in the UAE. Later, she worked for The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace for a while and currently holds the position of Assistant Manager, Marketing at Sheraton Hyderabad Hotel, a brand of Marriott International.
Over the years, her work has given her opportunities to independently manage media publications, promotions, PR events and much more. As we all know, every day comes with its own set of pressures and challenges. For instance, traditional content becoming more aggressive and competitive on the digital medium, and to give out something new to audiences can be tricky sometimes. She tries and meets these challenges by first identifying the situation with a positive attitude along with time management skills. Her creativity to come up with something new has so far helped her make an impressive mark in the hospitality industry.
Rubeena’s vivacious personality with a passion to innovate and a knack for evolving with the current trends has kept her going through the challenging times of 2020. She says, “I have kept up with a rollercoaster of situations during the pandemic with my avid ability to respond, reevaluate and reset strategies in every sphere to meet guest expectations. Working with Marriott International has been an incredible experience so far. Coming from no background in hospitality, seemed challenging initially but very intriguing when I was able to grasp every aspect of it.”
Her journey so far has given her the right exposure as she has engaged with people from all walks of life, building good professional relationships in return. This, we believe, has undoubtedly been one of the perks of being a Marketing/ PR professional and hence we call her a true woman warrior in the hospitality industry.
